🌟 Praise
Praising the kids in your life helps boost their confidence. Saying things such as ‘well done’ and ‘great job’ really encourages them and their sense of self. It also helps them to think more positively as well and to be proud of them self.
🌟 Help them learn
As children grow, so does their self esteem. Helping them learn new skills, will help them boost their self esteem. This might be learning to use a knife and fork, riding a bike, kicking a football. It is also a great way to spend some good quality time together.
🌟 Be the example
Your children are watching you, noticing how you do things, what you say, what you do. It’s important to be a good role model for them. They notice how you react to things, how you speak to others, how you speak to yourself, how you pick yourself up when you fail. You can teach your child so much without using words and just by what you do.
🌟 Avoid negativity or criticism
When children hear negativity or criticism, it has a flow on effect and disrupts their own self esteem and can be demotivating. Focus on positive redirection and encouraging them in what they are good at, rather then constantly commenting on what they aren’t.
🌟 Focus on strengths
Instead, focus on positivity and your child’s strengths. Praise and acknowledge the things they do well, and often.
🌟 Show your love
Remind your child you love them no matter what, not just when they do things well, win a game or get good grades, you love them for who they are and all of them.
