Emergency & Respite Care
Temcare
Temcare provides temporary care for children and young people with approved volunteer Foster Care families.
Children require care for many reasons including:
• A crisis or emergency situation such as illness, high stress or family issue.
• When parents need a break from caring for their children and require support in their parenting role.
• When there are issues of abuse and neglect and a child needs a safe place to live while these issues are being addressed.
• Lack of family and community support.

Long Term Foster Care
Long Term Foster Care Program provides longer term care for children and young people on care and protection orders. This care is provided by approved volunteer Foster Care families.
While the aim of care is to reunite children with their families, this is not always possible. In these cases, long term Foster Carers can help provide a stable, secure and safe environment for a child or young person.
Longer term care is arranged when it becomes apparent that a child will not be able to return home for some time.
Safe Haven Program
Our Safe Haven program is run in partnership with the department of communities to provide therapeutically supported care for children and young people who are subject to care and protection orders. The program offers one on one care for a child and we have homes across the North and North West of Tasmania.
